PAF maintain supremacy in ski, lift CJCSC trophy


ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: Skiers of Pakistan Air Force maintained their supremacy in the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Ski Championship held at Naltar, Gilgit ski resort.

All the 12 participating teams — Sindh, NWFP, Punjab, Balochistan, Islamabad, PTDC, Alpine Club, Civil Aviation Authority, Northern Areas, Adventure Foundation, Army, Navy and Air Force — displayed their skills at the 10,000 feet high ski slopes.

PAF team outclassed their rivals in both slalom and giant slalom events.

In slalom event Muhammad Abbas and Sarwar Khan of the PAF got first and second positions and Zia Jan of army stood third.

In the giant slalom the Muhammad Abbas of the PAF stood first and Muhammad Iqbal of the army second and Sher Afzal of PAF third.

Air Marshal Raashid Kalim, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, who is also President of Ski Federation of Pakistan, was the chief guest.
