ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: Aijaz Ahmed Chaudhry was elected chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Youth Affairs while Dr Attiya Inayatullah became head of the NA body on culture and sports.

Meetings of the NA bodies were held in National Assembly.

Aijaz Chaudhry was unanimously elected chairman of the NA body on youth affairs. Zulfiqar Ali Gondal proposed his name and Syed Bakhtiar Manni seconded it.

Mr Chaudhry, while addressing the meeting after election, said that youngsters are the future of the nation and we need to do something for their welfare.

He thanked his colleagues for reposing their confidence in him. Members of the assembly congratulated him and assured him of their cooperation.

MNAs Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak, Syed Bakhtiar Manni, Syeda Farhana Khalid Banoori, Zulfiqar Ali Gondal, Zamrud Khan, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, Rai Azizullah Khan, Chaudhry Liaqat Abbas Bhatti, Aftab Ahmad Khan Khichi and Liaquat Ali Marri attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Dr Attiya Inayatullah was also unanimously elected as chairperson of the NA standing committee on culture. Malik Liaquat Ali Dogar proposed her name and Samina Khalid Ghurki seconded it.

Dr Attiya Inayatullah thanked her colleagues for reposing their confidence in her. Members of the assembly congratulated her on her election.

The meeting was attended by Dr Ghazi Ghulab Jamal, Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak, Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Maulana Amanullah, Qari Abdul Baees Siddiqui, Malik Liaquat Ali Dogar, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Bushra Anwar Sipra, Rais Munir Ahmed, Syed Javed Ali, Shah Jillani and M.P. Bhandara.

Additional Secretary National Assembly Mohammad Rafiq conducted the election of the committees.
