QUETTA, Feb 21: The Anjuman Ittehad Marri (AIM) has claimed that security forces on Wednesday launched an operation in some areas of Kahan tehsil, killing many people.

In a statement issued by Naseer Marri, spokesman for the AIM, said that helicopter gunships targeted Jhambar and Gozonga areas.

He claimed that eight people were killed and 23 others injured in the operation.

However, officials did not confirm the report and denied the claims of the AIM.

Meanwhile, another AIM statement issued here on Wednesday condemned the suicide attack on the court of a senior civil judge and described it a terrorist act.

The AIM spokesman expressed his sympathies with the families of blast victims.
