LAHORE, Feb 20: Only an 11-member Pakistan veterans cricket team will leave for India on Wednesday after the Indian High Commissioner did not issue visa to two players Ashraf Ali and Zahid Ahmed.

Two other veterans Ejaz Ahmad and Rashid Latif will join the team later after missing the first One-day of the three match series against the Indian counterpart.

The secretary Pakistan Veterans Cricket Board Rafi Nasim told Dawn that he had no information on what grounds the Indian High Commissioner refused the visa to two players.

"I will receive the passports on Tuesday night, therefore, I am unaware about the reason of refusal," he said.

Former googly bowler Abdul Qadir will lead Pakistan in the three match series.

India has named former Test cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin as captain of their team.

The other prominent members of the Indian team are Manoj Prabhakar, Nayan Mongia, Robin Singh, Narandra Hirwani, Venkatesh Prasad, and Chetan Sharma.

The first match will be played at Udaipur, Rajasthan on Feb 23, the second at Calicut, Kerala on Feb 25 and third at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on Feb 27.

Pakistan team includes Shoaib Mohammad, Mansoor Akhtar, Ijaz Faqih, Arshad Khan, Ghulam Ali, Ghaffar Kazmi, Azam Khan, Mahmood Ahmad, Ameer Akbar, Manzoor Elahi.
