Mistaken identity leaves nine injured

SHIKARPUR, Feb 19: Nine people, including a light truck driver, were seriously injured when armed men allegedly belonging to Jafri clan, ambushed their vehicle near Katta village on Sultankot-Jagan link road on Monday.

The light truck, carrying passengers came under intense firing near Katta village while it was going from Abdal village to Shikarpur.

As a result of firing, driver Mumtaz Ali Sanjrani, a boy Ghulam Mohammad, his father Ghulam Nabi Bharchund, Mohammad Ibrahim Bharchund, Javed Ahmed Brohi and Ms Mana Bagri sustained injuries.

They were removed to the Civil Hospital Shikarpur. Two of the seriously injured were shifted to CMC Larkana.

According to details, the armed men armed men opened fire on the vehicle suspecting that some people belonging to Marfani clan and involved in the tribal dispute between Jafris and Marfanis, were travelling on it.

They escaped after firing. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

DEATH ANNIVERSARY: The 10th death anniversary of the Jeay Sindh leader Agha Farooq Ahmed alias Dado Khan Durrani was observed by Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Zain) in Maari village, near here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the JSM vice chairman Agha Qamar Mushwani highlighted the services rendered by late Dado Khan. He said that the Sindhi people were denied their fundamental rights by the establishment.
