KARACHI: Watchman among three killed

KARACHI, Feb 19: Three people, including a watchman, were killed in different parts of the city on Monday. A man was shot dead by two bandits near Native Jetty Bridge in Jackson police limits.

Police said Mohammed Ameen Shah, peon of a company, was going to office with a colleague on motorcycle after withdrawing Rs225,000 from a bank on I.I. Chundrigarh Road. They said two bandits on a bike, intercepted them near the bridge at gunpoint.

The police said Ameen Shah struggled with one of the dacoits who shot him dead and took the money. His body was shifted to civil hospital.

A watchman was shot dead at Rizvia Housing Society near Kiran Hospital in Sachal police limit around 4am.

Residents told police that they heard gun shots in the small hours and saw four or five people running away. Later, they found watchman Allah Bukhsh, 45, in a pool of blood. The police said the motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

In Manghopir, a 25-year-old factory worker was found dead with torture marks and burn wounds on his body.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was identified as Asif Shah, resident of Chanesar Goth.

Police said he had been missing since Sunday and suspected personal enmity behind the murder.
