KARACHI, Feb 19: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited applications for award of scholarships at BSc / BSc (Hons) and MSc levels, under the Talent Farming Scheme for the session 2007.
Those studying in BSc / BSc (Hons) part-I must have obtained 60 per cent marks at FSc level, whereas MSc students (part-I) must have secured 60 per cent aggregate marks in Science subjects at BSc level are eligible for the scholarship.
A stipend of Rs1,000 per month for BSc/ BSc(Hons) and Rs1,500 per month for MSc will be paid to the scholars apart from a Rs1,000 book allowance for BSc / BSc (Hons) and Rs1,500 for MSc students.
The candidates will be required to take an aptitude test to be conducted by the HEC simultaneously at Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Quetta, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Faisalabad and Karachi.
The test centres may also be established at Attock, Mardan, Mansehra and Gilgit subject to the availability of suitable number of candidates and a suitable place to conduct the test. Test scores of each candidate counts 40 per cent weightage with 60 per cent weightage of previous academic attainment to qualify for the scholarship.
