NOWSHERA, Feb 18: The recent incidents of suicide bombings have established the failure of the government and intelligence agencies to control the security situation, says former interior minister Lt-Gen (retd) Naseerullah Khan Babar.
He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a medical camp organised by the Shaheed Bhutto Foundation in Nizampur on Sunday.
Blaming the wave of violence on wrong policies the federal government had adopted in Balochistan and tribal areas, Mr Babar said that the writ of the state was almost non-existent.
“On the one hand (President Gen) Musharraf has been trying to portray himself as an international leader while on the other, he miserably failed to improve the domestic law and order situation,” he added.
