KARACHI, Feb 18: The Jamaat-i-Islami condemning the government for its failure to provide safety and security to the people and to control the ever increasing inflation has urged the masses to forge unity to launch a struggle against the corrupt rulers.
A resolution adopted at the JI Sindh Majlis-i-Shura meeting, chaired by Asadullah Bhutto, held at Qaba Auditorium on Sunday, said that a terrorist group had been imposed on the city owing to which the graph of street crimes had sky-rocketed, while dacoits ruled the roost in the interior of the province.
It said tribal feuds were order of the day in the interior of the province where over 50 people had been killed in Kashmore; 35 people had been killed in Shikarpur, and the government had not been able to control the situation as its ministers were supporting the warring parties.
It also criticised the government which had failed to control jirgas, although declared illegal by the superior judiciary, were being held regularly handling the issues of murders etc. It demanded that masses be provided justice through the Islamic system.
The JI pointing out that the prices of essential commodities had risen steeply in the past few weeks demanded that the prices be brought within the reach of the common man.
