Strikes, rallies to hinder reconstruction, says Attique

MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 17: AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan on Saturday warned that strikes and rallies against the relocation of government offices could hinder the reconstruction process and people must avoid such things.
"Ensuring law and order is our responsibility and if any organisation engaged in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process gives indications of leaving the area, those who are threatening to hold demonstrations and strikes will have to be answerable for that," he said at the inauguration ceremony of non-profit Sawera Model School.
The charity school, opened in an earthquake-resistant prefabricated structure at a rented piece of land, is run by the non-governmental organisation Sawera Foundation and pays particular focus on orphans and other children affected by the armed conflict.
Sawera Foundation's president Ghulam Ahmed Abbasi, secretary general Tanveer-ul-Islam, Jamiat Ahle Hadith Amir Maulana Shahabuddin Madni and others also spoke on the occasion.
The prime minister made it clear that the capital would be reconstructed within the territorial limits of Muzaffarabad tehsil and populations would be relocated.
