Pre-arrest bail plea of four rejected

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Feb 17: An Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday dismissed pre-arrest bail applications filed by four men charged with opening fire on some people at the Judicial Complex.

The court, presided over by Shahjee Rehman Khan, declared that the accused did not deserve to be granted bail.

Following the court’s judgment, the applicants -- Tillah Muhammad, Arsala Khan, Sher Zameen and Shabir -- were arrested by the police. The accused had opened fire on their opponents a few months ago on the Judicial Complex premises.

The special public prosecutor, Faheem Khan, argued that the applicants had created terror in the area by starting firing inside the court premises. He argued that the offence was non-bailable.

The prosecutor contended that after the occurrence the accused had escaped from the scene.
