KARACHI: Protest rally

Published February 18, 2007

KARACHI, Feb 17: The Karachi Union of Journalists has planned a protest rally on Monday to register its concern and protest over mysterious disappearance of the Peshawar-based resident editor of daily Express, Sohail Qalandar, and the government’s failure to secure his release.

According to a KUJ press release, the rally will be joined by the APNEC at 3pm at the Karachi Press Club on February 19. From there it would march to the Governor’s House to present a memorandum.

The rally would be in response to the PFUJs’ call for a nationwide protest against the incident and the phenomenon of missing persons in the country.—Our Reporter
