Five killed in roof collapse

MARDAN, Feb 16: Five children died and 24 people suffered injuries when the roof a house collapsed in Garhi Daulatzai village here on Friday.

A large number of people had gathered at the house of Shah Tareen Kaka to offer condolences on the death of Rahim Taj, who was shot dead in the village on Thursday. The roof of the house could not withstand the load of the people and caved in killing the five children and injuring 24 women and children. Those who died were identified as: Abuzar, 15; Adnan, 10; Bakht Alam, 9; Fatima, 9; and Roshma, 12. The injured were taken to hospitals.
