KARACHI, Feb 16: Khalid Latif struck a career-best 123 as the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match between Karachi Harbour and Sialkot petered out into a listless draw at the National Stadium here on Friday.
Karachi Harbour, who were in a position to force victory at the start of the final day of the four-day fixture, preferred to delay their declaration until they had accumulated a lead of 369 runs.
Sialkot, who have already qualified for next week’s final against Karachi Urban, batted out the remaining time to reach 174 for four when the match ended with opener Atiq-ur-Rehman scoring 62.
Earlier, Khalid and Fawwad Alam, the overnight pair, extended their fourth-wicket partnership to 180 in 259 minutes after the home side resumed at 145 for three.
Khalid, who batted for 312 minutes and faced 184 balls, stroked 13 boundaries in his third first-class century.
The left-handed Fawwad was desperately unlucky to miss out on a well-deserved hundred by just three runs when he was run out. His 180-ball 97 included 11 hits to the fence.
