KARACHI: Death record

Published February 17, 2007

KARACHI, Feb 16: The National Database and Registration Authority has urged the people to report the death of their deceased relatives so that death record could be updated.

The Nadra said in case of a death it was mandatory for the successors to report for the cancellation of CNIC of the deceased. Only next of kin – father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, widower or widow – could apply for CNIC cancellation through Nadra swift registration centres.

The applicant has to submit the death certificate, issued by the union council, and the Nadra would charge Rs50 for issuance of CNIC cancellation certificate.—Staff Reporter
