By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 16: The Sindh High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of a defamation suit instituted by PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto against former accountability chief Saifur Rehman Khan to enable her to record her statement.

Representing the plaintiff, Advocate M. Nawaz Shaikh stated before Justice Maqbool Baqar that she would appear and record her statement. Granting the request, the judge adjourned the hearing to a date in office.

Ms Bhutto sued the (defunct) Ehtesab Bureau chairman for conducting her media trial and sought Rs90 million in liquidated damages in 1998.

Meanwhile, the PPP leader’spetition against the Election Commission could not be taken up by a division bench for want of time.
