LAHORE, Feb 15: Medium pacer Shahid Nazir, who played his last One-day International some seven years ago, has been included in the list of five reserve players announced for the 2007 World Cup, starting in the West Indies next month.
The Wasim Bari-led selection committee, which had named the injury-hit 15-member squad for the mega event on Feb 13, announced the reserve players on Thursday.
Shahid, who has played 17 ODIs after making his international debut in 1996 against England at Nottingham, played his last ODI against Sri Lanka in Lahore in 2000.
The others included in the reserve list are Mohammad Sami, Azhar Mahmood, Salman Butt and Zulqarnain Haider, who is yet to make his debut in international cricket.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan team will return from South Africa on Friday. The available players, who have been selected in the World Cup squad and in the reserve list, will give their urine samples for the dope test here on Friday. Some players are likely to give the sample on Saturday.
