LAHORE, Feb 15: Former Test cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, has been named as captain of the 16-member Indian veteran team which will play Pakistan counterpart a three-match series to be held in India from Feb 23 to 27.
The Board for Veterans Cricket in India announced the team on Thursday.
The other members of the Indian team are Manoj Prabhakar, Nayan Mongia, Robin Singh, Narandra Hirwani, Pravin Amre, Sanjeev Sharma, Vivek Razdan, Rajesh Chauhan, Gursaran Singh, Venkatpathy Raju, Venkatesh Prasad, David Johnson, W.V Raman, Chetan Sharma and Noel David.
The Pakistan veteran team under the captaincy of Abdul Qadir will leave for India on Feb 21 to play matches at Udaipur, Rajasthan on Feb 23, Calicut, Kerala on Feb 25 and Meerut, Utter Pradesh on Feb 27.
Besides, Abdul Qadir, the other players included in Pakistan team are, Ijaz Ahmed (vice-captain), Rashid Latif, Shoaib Mohammad, Mansoor Akhtar, Ijaz Faqih, Ashraf Ali, Arshad Khan, Ghulam Ali, Ghaffar Kazmi, Azam Khan, Mohsin Kamal,, Mahmood Ahmad, Ameer Akbar, Aamer Sohail, Manzoor Elahi.
