Missing Marri tribesman returns

QUETTA, Feb 15: A missing jirga member of the Marri tribe return home in a bad shape on Wednesday night. In a press release issued here on Thursday, a spokesman for the Anjuman Ittehad Marri said that Haji Mohammad Jan Marri had been abandoned at a deserted place near Quetta.

He said that Haji Marri was taken away by people in plain- clothes on July 2005 from the western bypass area.

He alleged that Haji Marri was subjected to torture by the captors.

The spokesman said that

Haji Metha Khan Marri and Gul Jan Marri were released last month in the same manner by the agencies which had kept them in custody for many months.

He said that around 20 Marri tribesmen, including Wadera Asghar Marri, Wadera Mesri Khan, and Gul Khan, had been detained in Rawalpindi.
