PESHAWAR, Feb 15: The recently-established Tanzeem Lissail Wal Mahroom -- an organisation for the indigent and dispossessed -- will cost Rs22 million to the cash-strapped Frontier province over three years.

The organization, established under the orders of the chief minister, has a total allocation of Rs400 million for its health, education and social welfare activities.

The organisation’s financial plan explained that an amount of Rs18.88 million would be spent on supervision and administration and Rs3.12 million on purchase of office equipment and furniture.

The project, designed to improve the service delivery in social sectors, would initially be funded by government for three years but after that period, it was to generate its own funds.

Out of Rs18.88 million earmarked for the supervision and administration component, Rs8.5 million had been allocated for pay and allowances of 13-member staff of the organization, while remaining Rs10.33 million would go to the operational cost of the organisation during the stipulated period.

Some of the major allocations under the operational cost included Rs3.52 million fuel charges of three vehicles and Rs1.5 million for the rent of the office building, which comes to Rs50,000 a month.

An amount of Rs378 million would be spent on the project. Of the total, Rs126 million each would be spent in health, education and social welfare sectors.

During the three-year period, the organisation would ensure coordination and building partnership among public and private sector in social welfare and identify vulnerable groups.

It will also provide financial support to private and public sector organisations on a ‘need and demand’ basis, enabling them to expand their public welfare activities.
