KARACHI, Feb 15: Cargo handling activity at the wharves on Thursday was maintained on the higher side thanks to judicious physical shipments of export cargo to various countries.

According to KPT sources, the total tonnage rose to 0.109m tons comprising 24,613 tons of export cargo including 6,541 tons of rice, 1,218 tons of cement and 6,244 tons of clinkers and 83,369 tons of import cargo.

Four ships, Lalazar, Hyundai Stride, Harmony and Sea Princess were berthed to unload crude oil and load cement and containers on Thursday.

APL Jeddah, Hyundai Stride, Harmony, African Falcon and Swat departed, while Mert-E, Xiang Cheng, Lalazar, Kota Permai and An San are due to sail out on Friday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Calvin P. Titus, Y.M. Star and Mol Asante with containers.
