Saif, Mansoor shine

KARACHI, Feb 14: Saif Ashraf and Mansoor Ali displayed brilliant all-round performances to help their respective teams win in the 15th Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter Departmental Tournament here on Tuesday.

Saif first struck a superb 100 and later grabbed a four-wicket haul after conceding only 30 runs as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), after posting 229-6 off the allotted 45 overs, routed the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) by 64 runs at the KCCA Stadium.

In other match, Mansoor Ali with almost a similar performance, played the leading role in Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) 38-run win over the International Pleasure Motors.

Mansoor first made 57 and later captured 4-28 to emerge as a match-winner.

SBP 229-6 in 45 overs (Saif Ashraf 100, Zakir Afridi 57, Wasim Ali 23, Nadeem Moosa 2-33); KW&SB 165 in 39 overs (Adnan Ahmed 29, Javed Ali 28, Anwar Afridi 21, Saif Ashraf 4-30, Adnan Salim 3-26).
