HYDERABAD, Feb 14: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Wednesday directed Sindh Additional Advocate-General Masood A. Noorani to seek comments from the defence and interior secretaries about the disappearance of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz activist Sikandar alias Akash Mallah.
The bench, comprising Justice Mohammad Moosa K. Leghari and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, adjourned for March 8 hearing of a petition filed by Imran Mallah, nephew of Mr Mallah, and Sher Ali, brother of Manjhi Chandio, another missing activist of the nationalist party.
The petitioners have stated that Mr Mallah and Mr Chandio were present in Chandio Goth on May 16 when four persons tried to kidnap them but failed.
The petitioners said, the activists were later picked up by the Hyderabad district police officer, the Qasimabad town police officer and the Bhitai Nagar SHO who handed them over to two persons in a white coloured Suzuki Khyber car at the gate of the local cantonment and the car went inside the cantonment.
Mr Chandio was released on August 11 and then produced before the court. He disclosed he was later dropped near Naseem Nagar Chowk, with the threats that he would again be picked up if he approached the court.
