Judge suffers heart attack in apex court

ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: Supreme Court Judge Justice M. Javed Buttar suffered cardiac attack during hearing in a case here on Wednesday.

Justice Buttar was immediately taken to the Federal Government Services Hospital where he was kept in the Coronary Care Unit after initial treatment.

Later, doctors declared his condition as stable and he was shifted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) in Rawalpindi.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and other judges of the Supreme Court visited Justice Buttar in the FGSH to inquire after him.

According to sources, the CJP expressed his displeasure at the facilities available in the FGSH.
