KARACHI: Qatar plans to invest $7bn

KARACHI, Feb 14: Entrepreneurs from Qatar plan to invest seven billion dollars in different projects in Karachi including five star hotels, modern shopping plazas, residential and offices buildings, 47 stories IT tower, mass corridors and cement plant.

An entrepreneurs delegation led by Sheikh Nasir Al-Ansari, on Wednesday called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and expressed interest in investing in development projects. The governor briefed them about investment opportunities available.

The delegation exchanged views about setting up a dairy project on 2,000 acres in interior Sindh, agreed in principle to work out a joint venture and expedite necessary details to prepare feasibly reports.

The governor informed them that six mass corridors had been planned in Karachi besides opportunities to install a cement plant and dairy farming are available.

The delegation was told that to put up industrial projects in the province, land was being provided on 25 per cent rates of market price.
