HYDERABAD: Another varsity sought

HYDERABAD, Feb 14: Activists of Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba (IJT) on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the Hyderabad press club demanding the establishment of a separate "city university" in Hyderabad.

IJT Nazim Hassan Bakhtiar said that the federal government had announced the establishment of nine more universities in the country but none was planned for Hyderabad. This had created a sense of deprivation among people of this historic city, he said.

He said that despite recommendations of the district government for setting up a university in the city it was proposed to be established outside the city.

HSC PART-II RESULT: The controller of examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, on Wednesday announced the results of HSC Part-II (class-XII) supplementary examination 2006.
