KARACHI: DMG team calls on Tiwana

Published February 15, 2007

KARACHI, Feb 14: The government is promoting a culture of efficient and participation decision making in which government officials have an important role. Good governance is not possible without transparency and commitment to public service. This was observed by acting Speaker Sindh Assembly Rahila Tiwana while talking to 42 DMG officials who called on her on Wednesday at the Sindh Assembly building.

She told them that being government servants, they were important pillars of the state and builders of the country, as such heavy responsibility lay on their shoulders to improve the government’s image. She said good governance was only possible through efficient and dedicated service to the people.

She said Pakistan was our homeland and it was the duty of all to contribute to build Pakistan into a prosperous country.

Earlier, the speaker briefed the DMG visiting delegation about the historical importance of the Sindh Assembly building where the Pakistan resolution was adopted.
