NEW DELHI, Feb 13: Around 50 students and teachers from Pakistan crossed the Wagah border on foot early Tuesday morning to take part in the Catchpole Centenary Celebrations, scheduled to be held in Dehra Dun from Feb 15-17. The contingent, comprising cricketers and athletes from Cadet College Hasan Abdal and Abbottabad Public School, would be competing in cricket and hockey matches to be contested as part of the Catchpole Festival this week.
The centenary of Hugh Catchpole, the legendary educationist of the sub-continent, is being celebrated in India and Pakistan this year. The Pakistan contingent is also likely to visit historic places such as Agra, Jaipur and Ajmer for which the visas are being sought from the Indian government. —Agencies
