KARACHI, Feb 13: A fine century by opener Agha Sabir helped Karachi Urban score 288 for six against Faisalabad in the crucial Gold League fixture of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy at the UBL Sports Complex here on Tuesday.
The left-handed Sabir hit 102 off 174 balls with the help of nine fours and one six after Karachi Urban won the toss and elected to bat first.
Sabir was involved in two productive partnerships after his opening partner Asif Zakir was bowled by Tauqir Hussain for a duck. The left-hander put on 117 for the second-wicket with Saeed bin Nasir, who made 52.
Skipper Hasan Raza then joined Sabir to add 87 for the third wicket. The Test discard stroked five boundaries in making 41.
Faisal Iqbal was batting on 31 when stumps were drawn but fellow Test batsman Asim Kamal went cheaply for six.
Spinners Saeed Ajmal and Imran Khalid claimed two wickets each.
