KARACHI: ‘MQM must not rely on nationalist parties’

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 13: The chief of the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) and spiritual leader of Hurs, Pir Pagara, advised the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) not to depend on nationalist parties because they never represented the masses of the province and played no role in the creation of the country.

He was speaking to a MQM delegation here on Tuesday who had called on him at Kingri house.

The MQM delegation comprised Waseem Aftab, provincial minister Shoaib Bukhari and Akhlaq Hussain Abdi, the winner of the by-election on NA-250.

The PML (F) chief said that Pakistan came into being due to the struggle of the Mohajirs and MQM now was playing a crucial role for the salvation of the country.

During the meeting, Pir Pagara extended greetings to the MQM chief Altaf Hussain over the Muttahida’s victory in the by-poll.

The PML (F) chief said that he was delighted on the win of MQM candidate in by-election saying that it was in the greater interest of Sindh that both parties should cooperate with each other in the future as well.

He said mutual cooperation between two major coalition partners would be strengthened.

The delegation thanked the PML (F) chief for supporting MQM candidate in by-poll.
