By A Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 13: Residents of various localities experienced intermittent and prolonged power outages on Tuesday due to what the Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation claimed to be maintenance work.

A resident of North Karachi Industrial Area said the prolonged power suspensions had badly affected the scheduled works in industries and its ultimate sufferers would be the labour class if continued any longer. He said there were factories which did not have generators and labourers had to suffer.

Reports of power suspensions were also received from Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Defence, North Nazimabad blocks A, F, North Karachi, Golimar, SITE industrial area, Orangi, and Nishtar Road.

Meanwhile, the KESC announced schedule of power shutdown for Wednesday to carry out system improvement work. Residents of Defence, North Nazimabad, Cattle Colony, PECHS, Tariq Road, Baloch Colony, F.C Area, FB Area, North Karachi, Mehmoodabad, Orangi and Gadap may face power cuts.
