Three bogies derail near Ghotki

By Mansoor Mirani

KHAIRPUR, Feb 12: Railway traffic between Karachi and Punjab remained suspended for some time after three bogies of the Karachi-bound Bahaudin Zakria Express derailed near the Kobhar railway station in the Ghotki district on Monday.

The incident occurred at about 5:45am.

Some passengers received minor injuries.

Relief trains were called in from Rohri and Rahimyar Khan.

Karachi-bound trains, including the Shalimar Express, were delayed by three hours and Punjab-bound trains were stopped at Rohri, Khairpur and other railway stations.

Passengers faced a lot of difficulties, including a shortage of food items, and water at small railway stations. Local people provided the passengers with water and other food items.
