Five die in rain-related incidents

Dawn Report

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Feb 12: Five people, including three members of a family, were killed and six others injured in rain-related incidents in Mandi Bahauddin and Sahiwal on Monday.

Three members of a family were killed in a roof collapse in Haidri locality, Phalia.

The roof of the rented house of rickshaw driver Arshad Mahmood, 40, caved in owing to continued rain as a result of which Mahmood, his wife Sajida Bibi and five-year-old son Husnain died on the spot.

In Rang Shah village of Sahiwal, five children — Samiullah, Islamul Haq, Naveed, Hasham and Ghaffar — sustained injuries in a wall collapse. The injured were taken to hospital where Samiullah succumbed to his injuries.

On Noorshah-Gamber Road in Chak 55/5-R, Siddiq was killed and Tufail and Iqbal injured when their motorcycle skidded off the road due to slippery caused by rain.
