RIYADH, Feb 11: President Viladimir Putin reached Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening to a red-carpet welcome on a historical first visit by any Russian president to the kingdom.
The entire Saudi leadership, including King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, were present to receive Mr Putin and his delegation at the airport, signifying the changing times and the importance Saudi Arabia is attaching to Mr Putin’s visit.
