Injury scare for Ganguly injured

RAJKOT, Feb 11: India not only lost the second One-day International against Sri Lanka by five runs but also had an injury scare when Saurav Ganguly was taken to the hospital for an MRI scan on his left thumb.

Ganguly injured himself when he tried to take the catch of Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene standing at the second slip during the second ODI here Sunday. The ball hit his thumb and rebounded to wicket-keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni who took the catch with Sreesanth being the lucky bowler.

However, Ganguly showed no discomfort during the run chase and went on to score a fluent 62 with the help of six fours and one six.—Agencies
