Ayaz becomes Sindh golf champion


KARACHI, Feb 11: Ayaz Gul shot an eight-over-par 80 in the final round to win the Sindh Amateur golf championship on a breezy day at the Arabian Sea Country Club on Sunday.

Having started the day as a joint leader with Mohsin Khan, Ayaz did not lose nerves to win his maiden title by two strokes.

Ali Sher played the best round of the final day by scoring three-over-par 75 to claim second position in the three-day championship organised by the Sindh Golf Association (SGA).

Mohsin Khan squandered the second day lead and finished with a poor card of 85 to finish third.

Defending champion Waseem Rana and Abrar Ahmed jointly finished at fourth place with identical aggregates of 230.

Brig Hassan Akhtar Ghani of the ASCC claimed the seniors crown with a score of 172.

The veterans’ title went to Col M.Z.K. Burki with a score of 82.
