LAHORE, Feb 11: The bay colt, Namroud, is most likely to secure honours for owner Usman Khawaja by winning the Imperial Builders Cup, featuring seven-event card, during the 24th Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Monday.

The style with which Namroud clinched fourth position behind his stablemate Para Game, Dream Rose and Byron, there seems to be a good chance for him to overshadow his competitors.

This will be the fifth race, a class-IV division 111 to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1200m.

There are 14 contenders for the race. Great Murad, Dil Vil and Wendy Trace will be measuring their strides for a place on the board.

The supporting and sixth and last race, Mirpur Plate class-IV division I, to be contested over 1300metres, has 14 runners barring last-minute withdrawals.

Although placed on top of the handicap with nine stones four pounds, Charming King looks good over the distance. The filly Mubashara, Blue Fire and Dream Comes True can pose a good challenge to Charming King.

Royal King, Aaja Bulbul, Harry Can Run and Fruity are prominent runners among 14 strong fields for the fourth race, the Mirpur plate class-V division II over 1300metres.

Royal King is appearing on the course after a long time and has the potential to put up a good show.

Re-double, Faryal and Chakori Jaisa are pick of the 14 runners drawn for the third race, a class-V division 1 event over 1300metres. They should fight for the spoils in the same order.

Dark-bay colt, Billoo Prince, renamed as Re-Born, who ran second behind Bad-e-Naseem on Jan 28 should make amends and win the second race. Murad King, Lucky Coin and Tallal The Great can be his main challengers.

Majority of the runners in the opener are still maiden and yet to win. Two of them have won two or more races each and have since then come down in the handicap to original handicap position from they started winning.

On chance are Himmat, Dashing Paradise and Tosca. The last named look slightly better on handicap figures.

The city has received showers during the last 24 hours with some chances of rain during the night, rendering the conditions going underfoot slight or extra-heavy, which may help some animals and may prove discouraging for others. So, the race-goers must take this aspect in view before backing a horse. Trainers and jockeys can take advantage of the peculiar situation caused by rain.

The first race will be held at 12:30pm.
