KARACHI, Feb 11: The city government through public-private partnership policy will provide security to foreign investment and give permission to use its land for this purpose as all projects are being carried out for the benefit of citizens.
The assurance was made by City Nazim Mustafa Kamal while talking to a Chinese delegation, led by Citic Group President Wang Jin Yuan, who called on him at his office.
Wang Jin Yuan said the group with a capital of US$100 billion was already engaged in different projects in other countries. The delegation showed interest in making investment in Karachi.
The nazim told the delegation that the study of six mass transit corridors had been completed and they could invest in this project. To attract foreign investment, the city government had introduced public/private partnership policy, he added.
He said the city government had initiated various development projects during the last year on rapid pace and completed signal-free corridor consisting six mega projects of underpass and flyovers while the work on improvement of infrastructure and revamping of water and sewerage lines was also in full swing.
After the completion of these projects, he said, Karachi would become the most modern city of the region.
