By Our Correspondent

SAHIWAL, Feb 10: A bid by the outlaws to get their accomplice released from police custody cost two proclaimed offenders their head during a gunplay here on Saturday.

Reports said that Noorshah police (Sahiwal) brought accused Nausher alias Noshi from Chenab Nagar police station (Jhang) in an official vehicle to a village for the recovery of looted valuables and arms. Near Tibba Fatiana, outlaws Shamir, Allah Ditta, Naurez and two others opened fire on the police party in an attempt to get their accomplice freed. The police also returned the fire and the shootout later continued for some one hour which resulted in the death of POs Nausher and Zakir. However, their accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
