KARACHI, Feb 10: Residents of various localities of the city complained of frequent power suspensions on Saturday, many of them saying they suffered hours long power breakdown on the previous night.
A resident of North Nazimabad Block ‘A’ said that power supply was suspended at 11am and restored at 3.30pm, which was again suspended at 6.35pm and restored after 8.30pm reportedly due to tripping of the supply system.
A complainant from Raja Tanveer Colony said that his locality experienced nightlong power suspension on Friday.
Similar reports of power suspension were also received from Garden area, Liaquatabad, Federal B Area, Korangi Industrial Area and Numaish.
Meanwhile, the KESC has also announced a power shutdown schedule for today (Sunday) due to work on system improvement. It was informed that power may be interrupted from 9am to 6pm in North Karachi Sectors 2, 4A, 10, 12D, 11, 11B/9, 11B, 11D, 11L, 11I, 11J, 11K, 11E, 11C-1, 11C3, 5J, 5D, 5B-2, 5B-3, 5C-2, 5C-3, 5C-4, 5I, 14B, 15A-1, 15A-1, 15A-2, 15A-3, 11F, 11G, 5F, 5G, 5C-1, 5K, 5L, 5E, 15B, 11E, 5M, 5E, 7D-1, Gulshan-i-Zubeida, Muslim Town sectors 11E, 11H, 5A-1, 5B-1, 5B-2, 5A-3, 6A, 12A, 11F, 12C, 12D, 6B, Khawaja Ajmair Nagri, Madina Colony, Ashraf Colony, Shadman Town, Ayub Goth, Ehsanabad, Muhammadi Colony, Yasrab Goth, Ibrahim Goth, North Nazimabad block E, F, G, H, I, J, L, M, N, and different areas of Landhi.
Similarly, Korangi sectors 19, 27, 35B, L-1, 32A, 33, 34-1, 34-2, 34-3, N, Q areas, Korangi Industrial Area sectors 7A, 24 and 27, Zaman Town, Zia Colony, Golden Colony may experience power interruption for two hours from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
On the same day, power supply to Gharo Textile, Gujju Pumping Gharo, Sakro, Allied Papers, PSO PMT, Gharo Coast Guard, Roshan Bagh PMT, Gharo Complaint Centre, Gharo main bus stop, Pak PVC S/S, North Karachi sector 12D, Bakali Food Industries and Bijli Nagar Orangi Town may be interrupted from 11am to 7pm.
Power supply may also be interrupted to following areas on Monday. Clifton Block 1 and 2, Keamari, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block 2, Ziaul Haq Colony, Shamim Hospital, Madni Masjid, Liaquatabad C and C-1 area, Mohammadi Colony, Usman Goth, Nazimabad No 2, North Nazimabad Blocks G, N and M, North Karachi Industrial area, Surjani Town, Naval Transmission sub-station, Orangi Town, Jama Masjid, Mahmoodabad, KDA Scheme 33, Model Colony sheet nos. 4, 5, 6, 15, 16 and 26, Millat Town, Bagh-i-Malir, Malir City, Bagh-i-Ibrahim, Rufi Bungalows, Jaffer Bagh, Abbasi Market and adjoining area, Gulshan-i-Amna, Manzoor Colony, Bangali Para Liaqatabad, Cattle Colony Landhi and Korangi Sector 32B.
