BUENOS AIRES, Feb 10: Argentina's anti-monopoly agency rejected US investment fund Eton's bid to buy 50 per cent of the company that controls Argentina's biggest powertransmission company, Transener, a government official said on Saturday.
The official, who asked not to be identified, said the National Competition Defence Commission issued the decree on Friday, citing Eton Park Capital Management's lack ofexperience in the power industry and lack of long-term commitment.
With Eton out of the picture, Argentine state energy company Enarsa could pursue the stake in Transener.—Reuters
