LAHORE, Feb 9: The central executive council of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) will discuss its alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) for an anti-government movement in Punjab when it meets in Lahore today (Saturday).

The three parties had agreed last month on the anti-government campaign after Muharram. But the cooperation seemingly did not materialise to a political reality as neither the PML-N nor the JI participated in the campaign which PTI Chief Imran Khan had announced in November last year. Consequently, the PTI had to launch the campaign single-handedly.

The meeting to be presided over the PTI chief will discuss strengthening the opposition, taking part in next general elections, political and economic situation in the country and organisational affairs.
