PESHAWAR, Feb 9: NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has said that the government is focusing on education and has allocated massive funds for this vital sector.

He was addressing as the chief guest at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of an educational complex being established by Pakistan-Turkey International CAG Educational Foundation in collaboration with Kimse Yok Mu of Turkey in Hayatabad township here on Friday.

The Pakistan-Turkey Education Complex in Peshawar, the governor said, would serve as a monument of fraternity between the peoples of the two countries, besides providing quality education to children in the NWFP.

Mr Aurakzai said: “This is indeed a tribute to the founder of our nation Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Kamal Ata Turk of Turkey, who had both envisioned progressive, modern and enlightened societies for their people. Let us strive jointly to translate their dreams into a reality.”

Under the $2 million project, the building would have 33 classrooms and six laboratories and would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for 1,000 students under the same roof.

The ceremony was also addressed by NWFP Minister for Science and Technology Hussain Ahmad Kanju, Kimse Yok Mu chairman Mehmt Zeki Ozkara and Pakistan-Turkey International CAG Education Foundation chairman Ismail Nazli.

An 18-member delegation of philanthropists from Turkey also attended the ceremony.—PPI
