HYDERABAD, Feb 9: Additional General Secretary, Pakistan Muslim League, Sindh, Senator Ghaffar Qureshi, also political secretary to the Sindh chief minister, has claimed that Jamshoro District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar has offered unconditional support to the PML in his district.

He was talking to journalists at the zonal office of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Friday where he had come to offer thanks to local party leaders for withdrawing MQM candidate in favour of PML candidate in by-election for the Sindh Assembly seat from Kotri. Special assistant to the chief minister Pir Zaman Shah Jilani and MQM zonal in-charge Siraj Rajput were present on the occasion.

Mr Qureshi said that that not only Mr Sikandar and People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Nawab Ghani Talpur but other political personalities of the district would be with the PML in forthcoming general elections. "You will see many of them working with us in the elections."

He said that the MQM had withdrawn its candidate for the Kotri seat because the PML left the field open for it by withdrawing its candidate for NA-250 Karachi.

He accused the PPP of trying to create disturbances in by-election process and said that PML banners and posters had been torn off and matter had been reported to the Election Commission.

He said that the Jamshoro district government had been given more funds than any other district in Sindh and that was why its people were attracted to the PML.

Mr Rajput said that the MQM workers were working for the PML candidate the way they would have worked for their own candidate.
