KARACHI: Civil servants told to serve people

KARACHI, Feb 9: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has asked civil services officials to utilise their capabilities and knowledge to serve the people and gain their confidence.

Addressing 42 under-training officials of the Civil Service Academy Lahore on Friday at Governor’s House, Dr Ibad pointed out that heavy responsibility lay on their shoulders which could only be attained through dedicated serviceto the people,

The governor said the new local government system was working successfully and leading the country toward a quiet revolution.

Referring to the policies of Sindh government, he said Sindh, and Karachi in particular used to have an impression of insecurity till yesterday and could not get the status that it deserved but now due to the policies and efforts of the government, Karachi was emerging as a vibrant city.

He said that the government had succeeded to rein terrorism to an extent and gained the people’s confidence tackling ethnic and sectarian issues successfully which was attracting investors from all over the world to the metropolis.
