Munaza slams match-winner

LAHORE, Feb 8: A solitary goal by Munaza helped Multan beat Faisalabad 1-0 in the Punjab Inter-district Under-17 girls hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

Munaza scored the all-important goal in the 27th minute as the winners led the first half 1-0. No team could score in the second half.

Two goals each by Ayesha Rafi and Muqqadas enabled Gujrat to trounce Sheikhupura 4-0. Ayesha struck a goal in the 13th and the 26th minute.

Muqqadas banged home in the 2nd and 59th minute.

Three goals by Gulshan Tahira enabled Toba Tek Singh to crush Rawalpindi 7-0. Gulshan Khalid (2), Nazia (1) and Rashida (1) were the other scorers.

Lahore defeated Hafizabad 8-0 with Memoona, (2), Ayesha (2), Hina (2) the main scorers. Hina Arif and Ayesha Rafique added one goal apiece.
