One killed, four hurt on road

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Feb 7: A motorcyclist was killed while four others sustained injuries in a chain road accident near Mauza Bukan on Tuesday evening.

Reports said that a speeding wagon (MIA-1656) first hit a bicyclist and then a motorcyclist after the driver lost control over the steering. As a result, Muhammad Anwer died on the spot while Muhammad Ameer, a woman, his minor son and another person suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.

LOOTED: Four dacoits looted Rs10,000 in cash and calling cards worth Rs150,000 from a shop in Mohallah Curah on Tuesday evening.

Reports said that armed bandits entered the shop, held hostage owner Zafar Iqbal, his employee Raza Muhammad, customers Mirza Abdul Majeed and Akhtar Ali and deprived them of cash and calling cards.

City police are looking into the matter.

RECOVERED: A forest officer along with a police team conducted a raid on Duffer Forest on Tuesday night and recovered a truck (LPT-6732) laden with stolen timber worth Rs90,000.

However, the men of timber mafia managed to escape from the scene. Miana Gondal police are investigating.
