13 absentee teachers suspended

DADU, Feb 7: The assistant district education officer, Khairpur Nathan Shah, visited a number of primary schools and suspended 13 teachers for their absence from the duty on Wednesday.They belonged to Ali Bux Brohi, Ghulam Hussain Jessar, Sohrab Zardari, Warwara Hingoro, Kamil Solangi, Dara Machhi, and Mithal Qambrani govt boys schools.

He suspended them and submitted the report to the EDO Education for further action.

The suspended teachers included, Zulfiqar, Khadim, Amir Samoon, Qamaruddin, Akbar, Nazeer, Ahmed, Habibullah, Aijaz, Ghulam Ali, Feroze Khan, Nisar Ahmed and Wazir.

WATER SHORTAGE: The growers of Pahore and Patore minors on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the press club to protest against acute water shortage.

They were led by leaders of Abadgar Action Committee, Noor Mohammad Leghari, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari and Hamzo Khan.

The said that local irrigation officials were selling their share of water to influential growers at the head of Johi Brach hence they were not getting water.

They said that due to shortage of water in Pahore and Patore minors, hundreds of acres of wheat crop were being affected.

FIRE: Two houses belonging to Agan Landhar and Mir Mohammad Landhar were reduced to ashes when fire broke out in Pir Jo Goth in Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka on Wednesday. Household goods, besides gold ornaments, wheat and paddy were reduced to ashes. The villagers, however, saved the lives of inmates.

INJURED: A police constable, Abdul Waheed Bouk, and his relative, Bakht Ali Bouk, were injured while resisting a motorcycle snatching bid at Amb Mori near Dadu on Tuesday night.Armed men snatched motorcycle from Bakht Ali when he was on his way to Bouk village from Dadu. On raising hue and cry constable Abdul Waheed, who was on duty at Amb Mori police post, chased the armed men. Both received bullet injuries when robbers opened fire.

The armed men escaped with the looted motorcycle. Both the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital.
