Afzal helps AKU reach semis


KARACHI, Feb 6: Afzal Baig spurred with a cracking century as Aga Khan University (A) reached the AKU Sports and Rehabilitation Centre Tournament semi-finals after beating Ufone by 63 runs here on Monday at the AKU Ground.

Afzal hammered seven boundaries and four sixes in his 101 as the AKU (A) scored 208-3 in the stipulated 25 overs, while batting first. Adnan Jaffery (44) and Sheeraz Ishaq (27) were the other noteworthy contributors.

AKU (A) then restricted Ufone to 145-9 to register a comfortable win to enter the semi-finals. Adnan Jaffery (3-24) was the most successful bowler for the winners.
