Accord for rail track up to China border

LAHORE, Feb 6: The Pakistan Railways and a Chinese consortium have signed an agreement for establishing rail link between Havelian and Khunjerab.The PR general manager (operations), Asad Saeed and China's DongFong Electric Supply Corporation's Xang Dao En and Xoung Chen signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

The consortium will prepare feasibility report in nine months at a cost of Rs70 million.

Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and other senior officers of the Pakistan Railways attended the signing ceremony at the railway headquarters in Lahore.
